Stanislav Ostrous is a photographer, photojournalist and teacher. He works where documentary and art photography meet, mostly in analogue techniques.
His project 7 Seconds is a series of portraits of soldiers of the 16th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made as ambrotypes. By returning to early photographic methods, he explores how our perception of war changes when you choose slowness and attention to process over digital speed, and each image becomes a document of memory.
Stanislav will talk about his practice and experience and answer questions.
