Botanical photography treats plants as visual objects, from botanical documentation to experimental and conceptual work in which a plant becomes a symbol or a metaphor. The genre's classic is Karl Blossfeldt: in Urformen der Kunst (1928), he presented magnified stems, buds and seed heads as sculptural forms.
You can bring pictures from your archive or shoot something new.
Fotosushka is a one-day show of analogue photographs, hand-printed by the photographers who took them. Each participant will show one print of up to 30×40 cm; digital prints are not accepted. Visitors will be able to talk to the photographers and swap or buy prints. If you don't have a print yet, you can make one in our darkroom.
Photographers will hang their work from 16:00; the show is open to visitors from 17:00 to 22:00.
Anyone can take part, whatever their experience. Admission is free.
