Fotosushka: Still Life

Still life only seems simple. It came to photography from painting, along with sub-genres such as vanitas and the game piece. One of the earliest daguerreotypes is a still life of plaster casts made by Louis Daguerre in 1837.

The theme is a good reason to revisit old and contemporary masters, work on composition and look more closely at the objects we live with.

Fotosushka is a one-day show of analogue photographs, hand-printed by the photographers who took them. Each participant will show one print of up to 30×40 cm; digital prints are not accepted. Visitors will be able to talk to the photographers and swap or buy prints. If you don't have a print yet, you can make one in our darkroom.

Anyone can take part, whatever their experience. Admission is free.
