Everyday-life photography shows ordinary life as it is: routine, housework, what happens behind closed doors. Its defining quality is naturalness: the photographer stages nothing and corrects nothing. In The Americans (1958), Robert Frank built a portrait of an entire country out of ordinary scenes, and Sally Mann spent years photographing her family and her children growing up.
To take part, you can go through your archive or shoot something specially for Fotosushka.
Fotosushka is a one-day show of analogue photographs, hand-printed by the photographers who took them. Each participant will show one print of up to 30×40 cm; digital prints are not accepted. Visitors will be able to talk to the photographers and swap or buy prints. If you don't have a print yet, you can make one in our darkroom.
Anyone can take part, whatever their experience. Admission is free.
