A documentary about Romualdas Požerskis, one of the most important Lithuanian photographers of the second half of the 20th century.
The film is not only about the photographer himself but about the world of Lithuanian photography under Soviet occupation: a community of artists who looked for freedom through art, preserved their cultural identity and built another way of seeing reality.
Romualdas Požerskis is a photographer whose work has become an important part of the history of Lithuanian humanist photography. His series document everyday life, religious festivals, hospitals, old towns, memory and human vulnerability, often under a system that tried to control the very possibility of an independent view.
The film also shows the wider context of the Lithuanian photography scene, which went on to become one of the most influential in Eastern Europe.
The film is in Lithuanian with Ukrainian subtitles.
