Workshop: pinhole camera with shuMyt
Sunday, April 6, 2025
13:00
A pinhole is a camera without a lens: a tiny hole lets light fall onto light-sensitive material. Any light-tight box or tin can become a camera.
shuMyt, an analogue community from Vinnytsia that has been promoting contemporary film photography since 2022, is coming to Lviv to run the workshop.
The programme:
- a short lecture: the history of pinhole, how it works, Ukrainian and international pinhole projects
- building your own camera from a tin — you can take it home and keep experimenting
- shooting: everyone will expose two frames on silver gelatin paper
- developing the pictures and discussing the results
Bring a tin or box to make your camera from: a metal can with a lid or an ordinary tin. The workshop lasts up to five hours.
