Vinyl Party: Trip Hop

Trip hop appeared in 1990s Bristol. It is usually described as a psychedelic blend of hip-hop and electronic music at a slow tempo, with an atmospheric sound that often draws on jazz, soul, funk, reggae, dub and R&B.

Massive Attack, Tricky and Portishead defined the style, and Morcheeba and DJ Shadow took it in different directions.

Bring records from your home collection, put them on the turntable and, if you like, tell us what they mean to you. Come without records too: to listen, talk and have a glass of wine.
